The only way to go to Perhentian Island is by sea especially by boat services from Kuala Besut Jetty. It will take about 1/2 hour by fast boat, which is available from 9 am to 5 pm. There is no specific departure time because they will leave to the island when they reached enough passagers. Normally departure time for the fast boat from Pulau Perhentian Jetty is at 8:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 4:00 pm. But for a group package departure and leaving time will be considered. You don't have to worry about miss the boat because there are many guest house or hotel around Kuala Besut. Car parking facilities are available at RM5.00 - RM7.00 per day on Kuala Besut. This is a simple guide to go to Kuala Besut Jetty (Perhentian Island) from Kota Bharu:
Drive from Kota Bharu to Pasir Puteh to Kuala Besut Jetty OR At Kota Bharu Airport there are a few counter selling land transfer service and boat services but you have to ensure that you choose for boat and taxi service to Kuala Besut Jetty (Kuala Besut Jetty is the main jetty to Perhentian Island). By the way, you can choose Airport taxi to go to Kuala Besut Jetty which will cost you at RM76 per car per way. Or mini van at RM30 per person per way. OR Get direct bus from Kota Bharu city center to Kuala Besut (be sure to inform the bus driver that you want to stop at Kuala Besut Jetty, this is because they will only go to the jetty if requested. Otherwise, the bus will stop at Tok Bali or Kuala Besut bridge which is about 10 minutes walk to the jetty) OR We provides land transfer arrangement to Perhentian Island only for our guests and some additional charges apply. |
